Activat VC at Baku ID 2026

Last week, Activat VC COO Meirzhan Yessimkhanov took part in Baku ID 2026, one of Azerbaijan's largest events dedicated to the development of the startup ecosystem and the venture industry, at the invitation of Sabah.Hub.

This year, the festival was held in Sabah City, a new innovation town that will bring together technology companies and research institutes.

At Baku ID, Meirzhan spoke at a panel discussion on venture financing opportunities in the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and Türkiye. The participants discussed the common challenges facing regional markets: limited resources, the rapid development of AI and the difficulties of scaling startups.

Despite the differences between markets, the potential of our region continues to grow, and collaboration between venture ecosystems is becoming increasingly important.

Meirzhan also served on the jury of the Pitching Competition, where he got to know new projects and founders from across the region. It was especially gratifying to see the strong performance of Kazakhstani startups, many of which received awards.
